Research

The goal of the PET project is for VCU Medical Center to be a leader in the application of best practices for blood transfusion.

The goals of the PET project are to:

  • Provide ongoing education and be a resource for health professionals in the field of blood management and transfusion therapy,
  • Promote creative, innovative blood conservation techniques at VCU Medical Center,
  • Test and develop future therapeutic systems and technologies to maximize oxygen delivery to patients, and
  • Develop VCU Medical Center into a leader in the application of best practices for blood management and transfusion therapy.
